What is cache?

Question: Why did the web developer go broke? Answer: Because he used up all his cache! (Boom, boom) If you understood the above then you can probably stop reading here. If not, read on. There are lots of technologies designed to secure and speed up your website and most of the time there is no need to even know that they exist. However if you want to run a website and perform the odd update yourself, then it is always good to have a little basic knowledge up your sleeve as it can save time, money and sanity.  Cache is one of those things. At a very basic level, Cache (pronounced CASH) is a place to temporarily store something in a computing environment. Caching is used throughout the […]

But, an email signature that is smart, consistent across your organisation and informative can benefit your company in more ways than you might first think. The impact of e-commerce, insecurity in traditional job markets and the ability to work remotely has led to record numbers of people wanting, or having no choice, to […]

If you’re starting a new project however, it’s worth putting some serious thought in before committing. Here’s a quick checklist to go down when choosing: Common Sense – Make sure it’s easy to remember, not too long and also doesn’t spell something rude when the words are butted up against each other (trust me we’ve seen it before). You have to remember people will type the domain in and you will have to give it to people over the phone. If it includes lots of dashes and letters this could become a nightmare. Capitals – These make […]
